The Hojack Swing Bridge.
Sadly, slated for demolition. I grew up not far from this bridge and remember passing it on my parents’ boat. It’s unfortunate that it can’t somehow be saved, but at this point that seems unlikely.
The Genesee River is a federal waterway and the bridge was originally permitted for the purpose of transportation. As it’s no longer being used for transportation, it’s no longer permitted to be there (in spite of having been there, unused, for over twenty years).
